Carole is an interior designer with 30 years’ experience working mainly in the corporate office sector. Her depth of knowledge and keen understanding of ‘building use’ enables her to offer a fully comprehensive service, from building appraisal through to design and implementation.
An expert in delivering ‘serviced office space’, Carole has collaborated with a wide range of companies including HQ Business Centres and Avanta Mgt Services Ltd – the latter opening 17 new centres in London over the last 8 years. Other projects include workstation assessments for Citibank, dealing floors for both Banco Santader and Singer and Friedlander, and new offices for Opus Trust in Stockley Park, Cambridge and Ashford.
Before joining Amalgam, Carole was an Associate Director of DEGW, where she led a team responsible for work for IBM, Hitachi, KPMG and Compaq.
Ian specialises in workplace design, branding and strategic space planning. He has worked extensively overseas, undertaking projects across Europe, the Middle East, Africa, South and South East Asia.
His corporate clients include the British Council, DfID, the BDI, the Association for Consultancy and Engineering, ISS-Coflex, Unipath, Swiss Precision Diagnostics, Inverness Medical International, Alere, Concateno, MLS, Redpath, Hyder Consulting, HomeLet, Deacon Insurance, GeraldEve LLP, 12 Yard TV, Texel Finance ltd & the YMCA.
Ian also works on domestic projects, both for private clients and developers, including the Fitzroy Group and CJ O’Shea Co. Ltd.
Prior to joining Amalgam in 1999, Ian spent nine years as Head of Architecture & Design at the British Council. He graduated from The Royal College of Art, MA (Architecture & Design).
Mark is a chartered member of the Royal Institute of British Architects and has over 20 years’ experience practicing in his field.. Before joining Amalgam he spent several years working for Eva Jiricna and Julyan Wickham.
Mark specialises in working with private clients on the refurbishment of houses and apartments, which are often Listed Buildings. He offers a range of integrated services including architecture, planning applications, interior design and bespoke furniture.
Over the years, Mark has built up a tried and tested relationship with a trusted team of structural engineers, quantity surveyors and lighting designers, to produce high quality work to budget.
His company, Mallindine Architects, also has an office in Conwy, North Wales.
Patrice is a versatile graphic designer and art director with nearly 20 years’ experience delivering high-profile projects in retail, marketing, corporate, and PR sectors. He has specialised in art direction for the retail and fashion industries.
Patrice graduated from the University of Brighton in 1994 with an MA in Editorial Design, and has worked in a number of high-profile creative companies, including Design Bridge, Landor Associates, and Conran Design Group. He has been a creative leader on global brands such as American Express, IBM, Marriot Hotels, and Citröen.
From 2002 to 2008, Patrice was the senior designer and art director at John Lewis Partnership. He later joined the private jet company Ocean Sky, where he was instrumental in building the brand internationally, working on many different areas of the business.
His recent work includes Boden’s Summer campaign and catalogue.
Paul is a graphic designer and art director specialising in branding, creative platforms, campaigns, and digital project management. In particular Paul has developed experience in finance, tech, charity / not-for-profit, arts & culture, marine and energy sectors.
Paul graduated from the University of Brighton in 1993 with a D&AD Student Commendation.
He has extensive experience in a variety of sectors, including finance, technology, charity and the social economy.
Paul has worked with a number of dynamic creative agencies, including Ideology (London), Grafica (Barcelona), and UffindellWest (London), and has worked with a diverse range of clients – from large charities and social enterprises, to global banks and media giants.
Paul has lectured in design and has created engaging workshops for young people who are interested in the creative industries. Paul is currently creative director of PGA Branding, part of Amalgam Studio.
